Methods for casting metals have been around for millennia.

In Lebanon’s long history, Hittites held the secrets of ironworking and dominated the region while Phoenicians developed their woodworking skills on coveted Lebanese cedars, setting sail with the stars as their compass and with nothing to rely on but their ingenuity, confident and willing to risk the uncharted seas. Such is the heritage of our lands and at ID Project, we see ourselves as heirs to this long tradition.

Gold and other precious metals, were used to adorn temples and honor the kings. Naturally occurring elements as such were extracted and meticulously formed, cut and joined by skilled craftsmen. Rare, malleable, resistive, and shiny, metals were the cherished elements of the nobilities. Their excess allowed civilizations to boast of wealth and power and keep their mark in history. The Pharaohs were buried with their fortunes, the Aztecs had their golden temples, the kings had their golden crowns. Given their value, precious metals became the medium for exchange. They became a mean to rid ourselves from barters and allowed us to start storing wealth.

None can deny the importance of metals in history. Gold has its purposes and an irrefutable esteemed value, yet, iron was used in battles and won wars. With those two important elements in play, needless to say the blacksmith and goldsmith became the main craftsmen, their skills allowing kings and their greatest warriors to conquer their enemies.

The industry evolved throughout the ages and civilizations; new techniques were devised, new alloys invented, new processes implemented… As such, metalworking demands a multitude of talents. From the most elementary crude stages, such as extraction and casting to the final precise delicate assemblies, the range of work requires skills that are both rugged and refined. Forming, casting, forging, rolling, bending, shearing, cutting, milling, drilling, threading, boring and knurling, all create the diversity in working the elements, compounds or alloys, rendering the end product a work of art.

At ID Project, our teams create your custom made items through the cutting and joining processes. Our metal department capabilities encompass all varieties of furniture, structures, and accessories made from a multitude of different materials: Steel, stainless steel, brushed or polished, aluminum, and brass. We are equipped to produce custom made desks and bars, glass and metal worked tables, industrial filing cabinets and fences, outdoor swings and gates, all with a wide range of accessories. Furthermore, leather, marble, wood, plexiglas are other materials we use that can mesh well with metal.
